920 trimmer
I bought this trimmer a couple of months ago, I like it except for one thing, the line keeps breaking at the opening of the spool usually in the first 3 feet of trimming. Which mean I have to stop take it apart and thread the string again. Any ideas what is causing it. It has the original string from the factory.

Bad warranty
I had the model with 18v battery, same design as this one with the motor placed down on top of the rotating trimmer. The problem is that dust and small rocks somehow gets into the motor and suddenly it stops and the motor is totally broken. It did not run Many hours and its not an area with sand and rocks either. Since there was a rock inside the motor it was not covered by warranty. In My opinion this is a design fault, a rock should not be able to enter the motor. I also had to pay 2/3 of new price to fix it. Not worth it, I won’t buy A New one.

Great power and run-time, questionable workmanship
This is a nice relentless destroyer of grass and weeds. I bought this in April 2018 and it stopped working last month. I took it apart and found the main power wire broke off. It looks like they connected a make spade connector to the wire then soldered that onto an even bigger spade connector. The smaller spade connector had broken in half at the where the solder had stopped. I solder the wire back on and it now works. The switch design also appears to be unnecessarily complex with a lot of wires coming out of it. I'm using that as a single home owner, not a pro.

Dewalt must not think women use tools
My husband and I own a number of Dewalt battery operated tools and I have been looking for a battery operated string trimmer... and because I am not 6 foot tall, I'd like to buy one with either an adjustable shaft or a curved shaft that's not designed only for tall people! Dear DeWalt... do you only have men on your board? Do you think only men weed-eat America yards?
FYI: Adjustable-Shafts, Lightweight, Auto-feed 0.95 Line, and curved shafts with shorter people in mind is something you seriously need to create. Black& Decker is what looks like what I need but we already have all these Dewalt batteries so it would have been nice to buy a Dewalt.
SAD.

We love Dewalt battery products so I added the hedge trimmer (Fantastic and replaced a ryobi battery string trimmer with the Dewalt 20V. The straight shaft design is not as comfortable as the Ryobi. I will be going to get the Ryobi back from our son and giving him the Dewalt.

Happy with this purchase
I was hesitant to buy a battery trimmer. Would it last to finish the yard? Would it have enough power? Yes, to both questions so far. I’ve only used the battery on a full charge, and it consistently finishes 1/3 acre. I do enjoy how quick it is to start. Just snap in the battery and go. No more shaking up the mixed gasoline, messing with a picky carburetor, and trying to start a gas trimmer a dozen times. Additional benefits are that it is really light and quiet. My biggest reason for choosing this trimmer was because if anything would fail first it would be the battery. And that’s would be easy to fix because Dewalt has a big enough footprint in the battery tool department that replacements will be around in the future.

Lightweight Trimmer
Great trimmer for a great price. It has a slightly larger guard than some of the other models, which is nice as well.

Very impressed!
I usually use a fuel powered trimmer for my trimming needs, so I was skeptical this would hold up. I was extremely impressed with this. Not only is it lighter to hold, it cut through everything I needed it to. I had backup batteries charged and it got my yard down in less than an hour. Great product!

Powerful Trimmer!
I recently purchased this trimmer and am very pleased with it's performance. I have owned Worx and Ryobi trimmers i this category and find the Dewalt to be of better quality for the price.
