Same great dewalt product now better and lighter.
It says it all in the title. Dewalt products are all I use and if I ever have a problem there customer service is top notch on helping get things resolved. Just another great battery. Seems to hold up well in the cold weather as well. I shall continue to put it to the test.

Compact and powerful!
Used this on numerous Dewalt products over roughly 2 months and compared and contrasted with other 20v max full size batteries compact maintained even better usage times than than the standard size bats. Used on Dewalt DCL040 flashlight and last on average 10-15 mins more than full size bats no difference in light generated etc. Used two DCL040's side by side to compare both from fully charged to empty and the compact held charge longer and generated same amount of light.
Also used on DCD780 drill on various projects until drained and lasted just as long as reg bat without charging. Used with DCF885 to stir paint, mud, cut holes in drywall, etc without issues or reduction in charge time. Used DCS391 (cric saw), DCS 380 (Recip saw), and DCS355 (oscillating tool,) for various cutting associated with installing hardwood floors, framing and drywall installation, deck building compact bat worked great with all of them weighing much less than reg bat helped alot with longer projects reduced overall stress and just easier to work with. Even used the DCN682 (flooring staple gun) while installing hardwood flooring in several rooms and it worked great and made it much easier to handle as normally use a 60v battery. I didn't get specifics on exact times for the DCN682 as projects had a timeline but was at least as long as normal 20v bat.

A very good size
I have had this item for about a month after charging it I first used it in my reciprocating saw to cut down a Christmas tree. The liter weight made it much easier to carry out in the field. I then put it in my circular saw and cut 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood 3 cuts each. I then put it in my impact drill used it for over two week with out charging.

Great battery
I have used the battery through 3 full charging cycles and performed great. The lower profile allows for better balance and able to get into tight spot. Highly recommend this battery.

Impressive new design
Tried the new battery with several different tools, durability is very good, it improved tool balance when setting tool down, impact, drill, and screw gun. Didn’t fit in radio though that’s ok ! Maybe I need a new one?

Too bulky of a base
Got this a month ago and it will not fit on my drill with my belt cause the base is too bulky and hits clip and won’t fit unless I take belt clip off

Quality product
This battery holds a charge very well. Under heavy use it performs superior. I would recommend it to anyone with a DeWalt 20 volt tool. You won't be sorry.

Quality Battery, an OK design
The 20v 3ah battery (DCB230), works great for my tools. It has a nice light weight and compact in size, which makes it great for my usual projects/ jobs. It has a fast charge time, also lasts quite a while for use. Some down sides are that it will not fit in my DeWALT Tough System Radio (DWST08810) and they do rub a little against the belt hook clips on my drills and impacts. But that isn’t a big problem with the belt hooks. The rubbing is very minimal. Overall, I like that it is compact, very light in weight and that it has the fuel gauge on it. Love Dewalt products! I will be picking up the 2 pack at my local hardware store.

Great Battery, Not so great design..
As a previous review stated, these batteries are great and they had a good idea trying to go with a compact design in a 3Ah setting. However just like the other reviewer stated, I will never use them again because I use the belt clips on my tools and with the belt clips on all of my tools, these batteries do not fit. Therefore, these batteries are just taking up space and wish I could trade them for a couple 5Ah (DCB205) batteries or possibly the new six amp hour batteries (DCB206) depending on the size; I would have to see the six amp power ones to see if it wouldn’t give me the same problem with the belt clips hitting.

Overall the DCB 230 batteries are another quality product as per usual with DeWalt. I just do not like the form factor because I prefer the belt clips over everything. it is a bummer mainly because I own just about every DeWalt tool they make and I am extremely happy with everything except for these batteries it would honestly be easier to list the DeWalt tools I do not have rather than the ones I do have as it would be a shorter list.

I would really enjoy the opportunity to trade these batteries in for something that works better for me such as the DCB 205 or possibly the DCB 206 it’s just a shame to have such quality batteries just collecting dust on the shelf because I can’t use them with the current belt clips or maybe they could redesign the clips.
