I really love my DeWalt drill. A very good price and it might as well be brand new. It looks and works just like a brand new one. I'm a customer for life now. I ordered it on April 1st and got it on April 2nd and used it that day. Very very pleased!

Replacement Drill
After extensive use of a nearly 3 year old model of this same drill it was wearing out. Was going to buy a bare unit only as I already have many Dewalt 20 Volt tools plus batteries but CPO was having a flash sale on an entire kit which qualified under a free shipping special. Great value and have other reconditioned Dewalt tools purchased previously with no issues. Made buying it a no brainer.

DeWalt 20v drill
The drill was in use right out of the box. Batteries were reasonably charged and operational. With large bits and thick wood it tends to bog down but with lighter pressure it gets the job done. Everything I expected from a premium brand.

Aside from "Recon" stamped on the batteries I see no difference in this drill from a new one . I use it daily for drilling and driving with no complaints.

Great value, chuck is a little crunchy...
This is a good value for a DeWalt drill. In the hand it feels much like my older DCD760, probably even lighter. From the specs and other reviews, this is clearly a "budget" model meant for lighter use. In particular, there's no replaceable brushes, peering inside shows that the motor is a single unit. The chuck is a bit "crunchy" - the detents when tightening it are louder and harder than any other drill I've ever encountered. But it holds bits tight and gets the job done. This drill is exactly what it purports to be - a DeWalt drill made as inexpensively as possible while still not sinking to Harbor Freight levels of chintzy. The fact that it is reconditioned is probably more about the warranty than anything else, and saves another $20 or so.

BEST ANSWER: No, you cannot mix the use with 220 volt current.
DOES THE DCD771C2R HAVE A BILT IN WORK LIGHT UNDER THE CHUCK?
Neil on Mar 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is an LED light located under the chuck. The following is taken straight from the manual for this model drill.

Worklight (Fig. 1)
There is a worklight (E) located just above the trigger switch (A). The worklight is activated when
the trigger switch is depressed, and will automatically turn off 20 seconds after the trigger switch is
released. If the trigger switch remains depressed, the worklight will remain on.
NOTE: The worklight is for lighting the immediate work surface and is not intended to be used as
a flashlight.
Are the batteries new or refurbished?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The batteries in any reconditioned kit are tested by the manufacturer to meet a specific run time. However, the batteries are not new batteries.
On my new dcd771cr2 the drill bits fall out after using it and releasing the trigger.
Mac on Mar 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I the problem is when you release the trigger and the the drill is rotating at a high rate of speed the brake engages which causes a sudden stop which will losses the chuck. I have had this problem on several different brands of drills. If you run on low speed it is not as bad or slowly release trigger when on high speed and your problem will be solved.

Tom B on Nov 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Model DCD771C2R is a brushless drill.
