over all very happy
have been very happy with saw overall. wish the depth adjustment knob was easier to use. its round and small in an area that is not overly easy to reach. in my area replacement blades are not easy to find. i was surprised how well it works. great edges on birch, maple and oak plywood. cuts will be as accurate as you can line it up on a mark or read a tape. on 3/4 oak lumber it has all the power you need. i have ripped 2" oak but it was really pushing the saw. if some thing were to happen to my tools this would be 1 of the first replaced

I used the Festool teack saw for years. Unfortunately Festool is very proud of their products, which reflects in the price. I bought my DeWalt for $400 and can say that it is definitely as good as Festool in every way.

Track saw Dewalt
I like this new Track saw. although, I think Dewalt should have done a better job with angle gauge. Its too cheap, not precise enough. As far as the power goes . it has plenty, also makes very clean cuts. No vibration at all. So I guess overall its a decent saw.

Prudent purchase
Screwed up several pieces of 3/4 inch plywood trying to cut a straight line on table saw before ordering this. I am still in learning mode but so far I like everything about it. The plunge cut is a really nice feature. Less sawdust helps with everything. I did buy two clamps that fit the track that work well but haven't really had a problem with the track slipping.

Great product, I can finally cut a straight line.
After making only a few cuts, I felt very confident in every cut I made. I purchased the clamps which are very useful in keeping the track exactly where you want to cut. I hooked the saw up to my shop vac and was amazed at how much saw dust it picked up and how clear my work are was at the end of a day work.

Very good product; a couple of cautions
This is a very good product and it provides excellent results. The finish level of the tool is not up to Festool standards, but the quality of the cut is on par with what I get on a cabinet saw from my Forrest Duraline Hi-A/T saw blade. For the $150 price difference, as a non-professional I recommend the DeWalt. The saw is easy to set up, and it came perfectly aligned – setting 0 degrees on the miter scale puts the blade at an exact 90 degrees from the saw's base. It requires just a bit of fiddling with a screwdriver to zero out any side-to-side play on the track. And the downward/forward motion you use to push the saw down feels natural and has about the right amount of resistance – not to easy, not too hard. The included 48 tooth ATB carbide blade is very good and suitable for making tear-out-free cuts in hardwood plywood.

I got the 59" and 46" tracks and a connector bar, and connecting the two lengths works for ripping 8' sheets of plywood, but only after some tedious adjustment. Once they're connected, the tracks stay in alignment (assuming you don't bang them around). You have to trim the rubber slitter guard at the ends of the adjoining tracks, and even then, the tracks aren't perfectly matched, so you have to use an accurate straight edge across the joint between tracks, and then adjust the connector rod. That rod goes in the back of the tracks, making it hit-or-miss to get the tracks into perfect alignment. It's possible to drill and tap the "up" side of the tracks and use 7/64" set screws, which would make it much easier to align two tracks. The alignment rod is secured by four set screws that require a 3mm Allen wrench (not supplied). A 7/64 will work but be a bit loose in the screw heads, bringing the risk of rounding them off with repeated use. If you frequently rip plywood lengthwise, buy the 105" track which is available as an accessory.

Dust extraction really works, and you really need it. Connect a standard dust extractor vacuum hose directly to the track saw's dust port.

I Like It
I bought this saw because I got of tired of borrowing my son-in-law's. I help him with his custom furniture business. I use this saw to trim the ends of coffee table tops made from 1 1/2" maple, usually 48" wide. I get a perfect cut every time and very little sanding is needed. I looked at the other brands but since I was used to using the DeWalt why change. I have a hose that fits perfectly in the dust collection port and there is very little dust escapes my Oneida dust collector. For my purposes it is just what I need. I would recommend getting the clamps for the track.

How does the track clamp onto the work surface?
Harry on Jan 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can buy clamps separately. But the track as rubber strips that are enough to keep the track in place while cutting on a flat surface. If you want to make cuts where the workpiece is vertical then you'll need to puchase the clamps.
will the track receive a router base adapter ?
