Product Overview

Details

DEWALT delivers outstanding performance with the launch of the world's first gas-free, dual-speed, cordless framing nailer. The new DCN692M1 20V MAX Cordless Lithium-Ion Framing Nailer joins DEWALT's line of 20V MAX cordless power tools with extended runtime (XR) technology and provides a gas-free option for users eliminating the need for costly gas canisters. The DCN692M1 requires minimal maintenance, and works in cold weather where gas cartridges fail. The framing nailer requires no user-applied lubrication and is engineered with a high-efficiency brushless motor for superior durability. DEWALT's brushless motor paired with the XR 20V MAX 4.0 Ah lithium-ion battery pack allows driving up to 700 nails per charge, making it ideal for heavy duty carpentry and framing professionals, such as general builders, remodelers, and installers of decks and fencing.

Lose the HOSE
after some rigorous testing its nice to have a nail gun minus the hose that actually drives a nail into your wood though on single nail you need to let it wind up before shooting on multi nail just start nailing as fast as you can.
Most of the time I ran on high setting to drive into my heavier lumber using long nails but on low was more then enough to drive my smaller length nails into soft wood.
The swivel belt hook is nice as you can hang from any direction.
It is a little heavy to use after a while but well worth the trade off not tripping over hoses laying all over.
Very sweet product and have already gotten a second for my son to use as going hoseless is a nice thing.

Surprising in a number of ways
First, this nailer was much heavier than I expected. It's bigger and heavier than my DeWalt air-powered nailer. I guess that's to be expected since this is fully-contained and the battery alone adds quite a bit of weight.

I was surprised at how well this would sink nails. Also surprised that it would fire in pretty rapid succession one after another.

I used this on a project out away from the house -- that's where it's value really comes to light. No need to try to string electric to the job or have an air compressor hooked up. When you are remote from power or air, and you need a nailer, this is a great solution. It gets the job done!

Adjustment on how deep the nails are set is effective, simple, and seems to hold pretty true across the life of a battery.

I was going to give this 4 stars because it's so heavy, but that would be like complaining that a sledge hammer is heavy. It's a nailer that contains its own power-plant and power source. Overall very well designed and built.

20 Volt Framing Nailer 30 degree Collated Nails
I have used this on one project so far. It worked fine with 2 3/8" galvanized nails. I thought it would work with 28 degree nails but it did not drive those nails in fully. I do have other nailers that adapt to various degree of collated nails. This is a disadvantage of this gun to not adapt to various degrees of collated nails. The weight is a bit heavy but the compactness of it made it easy to work in the conditions in which I used it. I would recommend this nailer to other remodelers. I did a test on a scrap piece of concrete substrate siding. The nail drove through but shattered the piece so this application would not be appropriate.

Novice Home user - Excellent tool
I need to qualify any tool review with the fact that I'm a novice user that has done minor home repairs my entire life, but was challenged by Hurricane Florence to pick my game up. I have a mobile home in the Atlantic Beach, NC area and have had to take on several very complex and challenging tasks and have decided to use the 20v Max system as my platform, since buying the same batteries makes a lot of sense. This framing nailer has really helped with some of the floor joist repairs that I have had to make, and it almost always makes the task look easy. I have managed to jamb the thing once, and it took some effort to figure out how to clear that jamb, but after you locate the tool, that's stored on the gun, and find the screws on top that you have to take out, it's really simple. I've also managed to find some older treated wood that I was using to help brace a floor joist for support that the gun just didn't have anough juice to totally sink a 3 inch nail into. If it wasn't for that one slight issue, I would give this tool 5 stars. Overall, I'm very impressed with a battery powered tool in this category that could do as well as this one does.

Love the 30° for more nail capacity n smaller size
Got this for an excellent deal! Off the discount shelf at time but was new in box. I think this is when they discontinued this model and went for a different nail angle of 21°.
But having said that,
Has been helpful for me. Occasionally need to drive a nail deeper with a hammer cause it hits a hard piece/knot. This thing is great for small work. Or for someone who doesn't do a ton of framing. It's Soo awesome not to pull out a compressor, hose, and most times an extension cord for the compressor. A bit heavier then a standard gun. But definitely worth it.
I get more power will in bump fire mode then single shot. Small difference in motor speed. But drives better that way.

If your doing framing professionally, get an air power gun.
I am still waiting for someone to make a co2 type nail gun. Something that runs on paintball gun tanks, the larger ones. Have seen many homemade, but not one from a pro manufacturer. Just saying.

Convenient!
I have had this kit for approximately a year now. Whenever I bring it out (everyday on projects, the clients, co workers are impressed. I do not have to set up a compressor, or hoses. I have built 3 brand new homes with this nailer alone, even through a Canadian winter! I love how light it is, the hook for attaching it to my tool belt, the runtime I get with this is usually a full day with one battery.
I have also done a lot of renovations with this nailer to which it performed well.
I’ve only had one issue with this nailer was eventually the nails were not going in completely and also misfiring shots.
But ! Because of the awesome warranty the spring and striker were replaced . And haven’t had the problem since ! And it is back to building me some homes!
All In all I recommend this nailer!
Thank you.

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
