I received this just in time to assist me with a bathroom remodel. With the 80 grit flap wheel It easily removed construction adhesive and leftover Sheetrock from studs as well as grinding down leftover trim nails at the same time. It saved me a ton of time not having to use a hammer and chisel. I also used it to grind off the slag and surface rust from my welding table, and it still has some meat left on the bone. The variable speed was a nice feature that gives you extra power or helps you not burn the surface your working on. The trigger is hard to squeeze, expect hand fatigue if you are using it for an extended duration. The chuck requires the use of two wrenches that are supplied to, but it would be nice to see some sort of keyless chuck added. Overall it’s a great tool and will make jobs easier on me.
Built like a tank, like most Dewalt products. This is definitely a contractor-grade build. The hand-hold on the front makes it easy to lean a shoulder or hip against a table or surface and keep the die grinder very steady. It's not quite balanced right for one-handed operation where you need quick, fine movements - you really need a more compact design for that - but works well for most things. Does a good job engaging wood, metal, fiberglass, etc. The trigger is locked out unless you hold the lock off - this is a little bit annoying, but fairly easy to get the hang of. The kit is great - TWO 20V XR batteries and a charger. The die grinder definitely can make use of both batteries, but isn't as much of a power hog as I was expecting. The speed range switch on the 'foot' is a great feature that gives you maximum control - it allows you to set the range you would like to work in, which is especially useful when you don't want to accidentally spin up a tool to 25k RPM for safety reasons.
This grinder kit does it all. It came with two batteries and the charger. The grinder itself was easy to use and simple to operate. The batteries lasted an extra long time and I was very happy with the charging rate. The workers were all trying to get this baby because it was so easy to use and comfortable to hold. Thank you for making this grinders top of the line tool.
Tool is light. The fore grip is a great idea. The safety needs a little tweezers. Maybe a lock to stay on. Or a thumb control. It’s a little difficult to push the safety and the trigger. The adjustable speeds is a great idea. Gives a larger variety of attachments.
Most people think the grinder only have one or two purposes but it can also be used for other things such as fished carpentry reduce edges on crown molding bass and other wood material also good for mechanic reasons another good feature the LED lights
I tried at home and work using it on both wood and metal great product for reaming or taking burrs off out corners edges and holes the variable speed really adds to this feature so you dont leave burn Mark's or anything on what your working plus it helps to control what your working on
