It is time to drill some concrete
When you take this hammer drill out of storage box pick it up it means business dam right it eats concrete and yes you can find spline bits you just have to go to a Dewalt service center like total tool or other centers so yes this drill eats concrete like a animal

Own several of these Dewalt spline drive hammer drills and have been very pleased with their performance. Super heavy duty cord, strong positive on/off switch and kinda ramps up at start up which makes it much easier to use than the "instant on" type. Strange review from other cust about spline drives. 5/8" Spline, SDS, SDS-max are all common types of tool engagement found in commercial concrete hammers and hammer-drills. Not something you'll find at Wal-mart.

Does the drill comes with bits?
A shopper on Aug 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The item will not include any bits.
I am interested to know what size concrete coring bits this rotary hammer can handle. We do a lot of drilling for drain pipes in concrete walls and need to use coring bits up to 4 3/4" for 4" PVC pipe. I also have drill bits from a Hitachi rotary hammer that are spline drive and would like to know if these are compatible with this rotary hammer. Thanks, Jim

BEST ANSWER: This drill has a maximum drilling capacity of 1-9/16. For a drill that uses a core bit, we recommend using a larger drill.
I need to replace some older dewalt hammers that I cannot find made anymore.
They are d25550 models. They use spline bits 1/2" to 3/4" diameter holes for drilling concrete.
Would this be the machine to replace the ones I have or is there another unit you suggest?
We do not use SDS or SDSmax for these as the bits are not available so it has to be a spline bit/drive hammer. We typically drill 8"-14" depth concrete.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the D25553K is a replacement for model D25550 spline rotary hammer
How do I change the bit, I'm using a rental ?
